Summary This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security Headquarters (DHS-HQ), Immediate Office of the Secretary (IOS), Counterterrorism Coordinator's Office (CTCO). The primary purpose of this position is to serve as Project Manager for the Counterterrorism Coordinator (SES) and Deputy Counterterrorism Coordinator (SES). Help Duties As a Project Manager (Counterterrorism), GS-0301-15, your typical work assignments may include: * Serves as a Project Manager for the CTCO. Develops innovative, affordable solutions and projects that satisfy priorities and needs. * The incumbent also manages, leads, or administers project resources; monitors project activities and resources to mitigate risk; and implements or maintains quality assurance processes. * Makes improvements, solves problems, or takes corrective action when problems arise. Gives presentations or briefings on all aspects of the project. * Provides expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to top officials on critical issues such as justifying matters involving a significant and controversial program policy of national scope and impact. Qualifications Specialized Experience To qualify for this position, you must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in Federal Service or private/public sector equivalent experience. For this position, specialized experience is defined as: * Experience in qualitative and quantitative analytical and evaluation methods and techniques to identify, analyze, evaluate, and advise on Department-level counterterrorism problems, programs, and initiatives. * Experience of comprehensive knowledge of pertinent regulations, policies and precedents including knowledge of DHS programs, the sequence and timing of key program events and milestones, and methods of evaluating goal accomplishments. * Comprehension of analytic methods and techniques to synthesize information related to the DHS counterterrorism mission received from multiple sources. * Evaluate information critical to the Secretary's priorities to ensure the Department's resources are supportive of the Secretary's decision-making requirements. * Insight of the principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing projects and resources, including monitoring and inspecting costs, work, and project team performance. * Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to perform in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment while overseeing multiple processes and making critical decisions.
