Description Seeking INTERNAL SPS APPLICANTS for warehouse clerk cross training opportunities. There are two (2) cross-training opportunities for current Custodians and one cross training opportunity for full time Grounds employees for the months of November through February. * Benefits--Medical/Dental/Vision through SEBB (School Employee Benefits Board) are provided for employees who work at least 630 hours per academic year. * Additional benefits may include vacation, sick, personal days, and paid holidays. * Most positions have additional pay provisions above what is represented on the salary schedule, all in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreements as negotiated. SALARY: The pay level for cross training is the level of the person being replaced, at the replacement worker's longevity step. DOWNLOAD SALARY SCHEDULE Responsibilities * Maintain inventory stock levels of designated items, in district warehouse. Check incoming merchandise and prepare appropriate receiving documents according to established procedures. * Assist with assignment of inventory numbers for warehouse items as needed. * Select, pack, and prepare for delivery such items as food, maintenance, custodial, paper products, art materials, and other classroom and office supplies according to current procedures. * Receive supplies/furniture equipment according to current procedures to ensure that correct quantity and quality of items have been supplied; inspect for visible and hidden damage. Store equipment and furniture in the surplus warehouse, assist in keeping the surplus warehouse organized and easily accessible to the property management department staff, following instructions from the Warehouse Supervisor. * Shelve, rotate, and place stock received in proper storage areas; provide accurate input to the computerized inventory/stock control system. * Assist in maintaining perpetual inventories and periodic physical inventory of stock on hand. * Receive and audit non-inventoried items for maintenance and custodial purchase orders as assigned. Maintain file of purchase orders. * Operate forklift or pallet truck to receive, issue, and rotate warehouse supplies, using proper safety and handling procedures to protect material and supplies. * Keep warehouse and merchandise orderly and clean using good housekeeping methods. * As assigned, drive delivery truck and deliver items to various buildings, delivering to proper areas, making certain that items needing refrigeration or frozen storage are given proper attention and stored correctly. * Maintain record of inventory issues according to current established procedures. * Assist in routine reordering of maintenance overhead supplies; screws, bolts, adhesives, chain, cleaners, various fasteners, anchors, miscellaneous hardware items and forms. * Maintain up-to-date familiarity with maintenance and custodial supplies and other products used by school district. * Other duties and assignments as directed by the warehouse supervisor. Qualifications * Demonstrated ability and aptitude to perform the responsibilities listed. * Demonstrated familiarity with district supplies carried in the warehouse including firsthand experience with the district ordering process for such supplies. * Experience working in warehouse environment preferred. Demonstrated ability to follow warehouse procedures and practices related to receiving, inspecting, storing, and issuing materials and supplies. * Excellent work record including demonstrated dependability and ability to establish and maintain effective relations with other employees, students, and public. * Demonstrated ability to comply with oral and written directions. * Demonstrated employment experience in operating a forklift and driving a truck. * Possess a valid driver's license. * Must be bondable. * Must be insurable under district insurance program for driving motor vehicles. * Ability to learn computerized inventory system and ten-key calculator. * Physical capabilities to perform the essential functions of the job, including the ability to lift 50 pounds. * Demonstrated record-keeping skills including the ability to read and interpret requisitions, etc., and write and process receiving inventory information. * Commercial driver's license preferred. * Demonstrated ability to relate and work effectively with a diverse group of co-workers and staff in a confidential manner. * Successful completion of cross-training preferred. * Relates positively to youth and adults of varying socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
