CLASS SUMMARY: Responsible for receiving, logging, and identifying lost and found articles left in the passenger facilities. Performs clerical functions such as reception, typing, filing, providing general customer service, performing data entry and report compilation activities.ESSENTIAL DUTIES: This class specification represents the core areas of responsibilities. Performs lost and found activities - secures property that is turned in by Airport employees as well as private individuals. Attempts to identify and contact owner by telephone, mail and/or electronically. Compares lost property logs with found property logs and reports in system to assist with finding owner. Answers telephones and greets/assists customers in the Lost and Found Office. Responds to locations in the passenger facilities to retrieve found property which is then taken back to the Lost and Found Office to log. Creates unclaimed items inventory list and prepares those items for auction. Performs miscellaneous assignments such as: organizing, filing, mailings, maintaining lost and found inventory, etc. Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED and one year of related work experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS: Maintain Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) clearance. KNOWLEDGE OF: Basic administrative concepts. SKILL IN: Excellent customers service skills. Clearly and effectively communicating both orally and in writing; Use of a variety of computer-based technologies including word processing, graphs and spreadsheets; Establishing and maintaining effective, fair, cooperative, collaborative and respectful relationships with internal and external colleagues, peers, work teams and workgroups. Demonstrated skill in data entry. Demonstrated skill in use of multi-line telephone. Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information. The ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people. ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Positions in this class typically require: walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, lifting, fingering, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body.
