About NARO: Co-founders Chef Junghyun 'JP' Park and CEO Ellia Park, and NA:EUN Hospitality (the highly acclaimed team behind Atoboy [2016] and Atomix [2018]) are currently seeking a Line Cook to join the service team at NARO - which received a 3-star rating from the New York Times. Located in the iconic Rockefeller Center, NARO's cuisine will be rooted in Korean cuisine, 'Hansik.' Through NARO, we hope to tell the story of Korean cuisine currently underrepresented overseas. Featuring multi-course tasting menus as well as a la carte options, NARO focuses on more subtle delicate flavors that are vegetable-forward, highlighting traditional techniques with seasonal ingredients. Position Overview: NARO is looking for Line Cooks to join our team. We are looking for passionate and enthusiastic food and beverage professionals, with endless curiosity and love for the restaurant industry, to learn and grow with our restaurant. Our Line Cooks will participate in our culinary program, providing excellence for our restaurant while demonstrating exemplary hospitality and culinary service to our guests. This is an ideal position for someone whose passion for food is matched by their deep commitment to precision and hospitality. This position reports to the NARO Head Chef. We are offering $21-$25 an hour for this position. Line Cook responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Work and serve as key member of a talented and diverse culinary team and restaurant, preparing and executing the menu at the direction of Chefs with utmost quality, precision and consistency. Learn and develop maximum proficiency with the various stations as assigned by Chefs, which includes preparing and cleaning stations properly, preparing station for following shift, stocking stations adequately for service, and communicating actively with Chefs and colleagues to facilitate a smooth and efficient kitchen. Display a working knowledge of all ingredients and preparation used on the menu and participate in a professionally run service - ensuring excellence in cooking, timing, plate assembly, and communication. Support other areas of the kitchen as needed, and be able and willing to assist teammates in the kitchen as needed. Be proactive and accommodate guest requests, in the spirit of providing excellent, tailored service, cuisine and hospitality to our guests. Maintain clean, sanitized and organized workstation during each shift, while observing DOH guidelines at all times. Qualified Line Cooks must be energetic, enthusiastic, and have a great attitude, as well as: At least 1 year of full-service cooking experience (preferably in a fine dining establishment) Strong working knowledge of relevant food preparation, ingredients, and techniques Genuine passion for cooking and restaurant hospitality Highly organized, productive, and able to work meticulously in a professional work environment Energetic and friendly personality, with strong willingness and ability to work as part of a cohesive team and to support colleagues Willingness to take direction from Chefs, embrace change and innovation, and to learn and adapt to new systems, service steps and health and cleaning procedures Broad and flexible availability to work - AM/PM service and/or prep/production Knowledge and/or experience with Korean food and beverage is a plus but not required Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 35lbs if necessary Safely and effectively use all necessary tools and equipment Stand and walk for an entire shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant NARO and NA:EUN Hospitality offer competitive compensation, commuter benefits, dining discounts, paid time off, medical, dental, and vision benefits package, 401k, and immense growth potential.
