Position Summary Position duties include the processing of: Pesticide Business Location Licenses, Restricted Use Dealer Licenses, and Individual Commercial Pesticide Applicators Licenses. Collectively, this would affect approximately 19,000 businesses and individuals. In addition, this position will assist in administering and proctoring the commercial pesticide certification exams, affecting approximately 5,500 individuals annually. This position will also assist several program managers in providing base level technical information to constituents and business managers/owners regarding the variety of licensing types and individual requirements. This includes the preparation and tracking of related written and electronic correspondence. Other duties will include assisting external staff (e.g., Enforcement Specialists, Extension Services, etc.) in acquiring copies of the applicable certification exam and associated testing materials (e.g., answer sheets, etc.), and assisting in file storage (electronic and paper) re-organization and purging in preparation for the migration from a Bureau specific licensing database to an Agency wide (Enterprise) database. This position would also assist in the generation and tracking of billing invoicing of approximately 2,700 license applications that are not received via electronic submission. This position will occasionally travel to the various facilities to administer exams to large groups of individuals. 70% - Licensing of: Pesticide Business Location Licenses, Restricted Use Dealer Licenses, and Individual Commercial Pesticide Applicators Licenses 15% - Assist the Pesticide Applicator Program Associate and the Madison Proctor in scoring and proctoring pesticide applicator certification exams. 15% - General Office Assistance Salary Information The classification of this position is License/Permit Program Associate which is in schedule/range 02-11. Pay will be $21.66 per hour. For current and eligible former State employees, compensation will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan effective at the time of hire. Job Details DATCP does not sponsor work visas. Any appointment made will be contingent on the selected applicant being able to provide documentation of eligibility to work in the United States. A criminal background check will be performed on the selected applicant prior to an offer of employment. Applicant must be a resident of Wisconsin (18 years of age or older). Applicant must possess a valid driver's license, including proof of current auto insurance, OR the ability to provide one's own transportation for work purposes. Travel is required approximately 1 - 3 times per year to proctor pesticide applicator certification exams at remote facilities. Limited term positions are not civil service classified positions, do not have rights to permanent civil service classified positions, and do not lead to permanent status. This position is Limited Term Employment (LTE) and is limited to 1,039 hours in 26 consecutive pay periods (1 year) Qualifications Minimally qualified applicants will have each of the following: * Training and/or experience using personal computer software including Microsoft Office applications or similar (i.e., word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, reports, etc.) * Experience working in an office environment providing administrative program support (i.e., managing & maintaining records, preparing reports, drafting correspondence, answering calls and/or emails, etc.). * Experience providing customer service and establishing relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, a well-qualified applicant will have one or more of the following: * Experience performing licensing and/or permitting functions (e.g., processing payments, reviewing forms for accuracy, etc.). * Experience with application processing (e.g., reviewing, approving, denying, etc.). * Training and/or experience interpreting and applying rules and/or regulations (e.g., state statutes, policies, laws, etc.).
