Highly visible role with ample room for career growthMust have production supervisory experienceAbout Our ClientThe Production Supervisor is responsible for managing the production team, ensuring that all manufacturing processes run smoothly, efficiently, and safely. This includes supervising employees, monitoring production processes, enforcing safety protocols, and maintaining product quality. The Production Supervisor plays a key role in meeting production goals and ensuring timely delivery of products.Job DescriptionSupervision and Leadership:Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of production workers (machine operators, assemblers, etc.).Assign tasks, manage schedules, and monitor the performance of production staff.Lead, motivate, and train employees to improve production efficiency and meet company standards.Production Management:Monitor daily production activities to ensure that production schedules and targets are met.Ensure that production runs efficiently, with minimal downtime or waste.Troubleshoot production issues, including equipment breakdowns or quality problems, and implement corrective actions.Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule and ensure timely maintenance of machinery.Quality Control:Ensure that all products meet quality standards and specifications.Implement and oversee quality control procedures and take immediate corrective actions when defects or issues arise.Conduct regular inspections of products and production processes.Health and Safety:Enforce health and safety regulations on the production floor.Ensure that employees are trained in and adhere to safety protocols, including the proper use of equipment and protective gear.Investigate and report any accidents or near-misses and implement preventive measures.Process Improvement:Identify areas for process improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency.Implement lean manufacturing practices or other process improvement methodologies to minimize waste and optimize resource use.Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., quality, engineering) to resolve production issues and improve workflows.Inventory and Materials Management:Ensure that materials and components are available to meet production needs, coordinating with the warehouse and purchasing teams.Minimize waste by optimizing raw material usage and reducing production defects.Reporting and Documentation:Maintain accurate records of production output, employee performance, and equipment efficiency.Prepare and submit reports on production progress, delays, and other key metrics.Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant industry standards.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. The Successful ApplicantEducation:Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (preferred).Experience:3+ years of experience in a production or supervisory role, ideally in the chemicals or packaging industry.Skills:Strong leadership and team management abilities.Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in a production environment.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and safety regulations.Proficiency in production software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).Understanding of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies (preferred).What's on OfferTarget compensation is $65,000 - $80,000 base salary.ContactClayton HamiltonQuote job refJN-102024-6552718
