Head Cook - Athena Greek Restaurant, Chicago Job Overview: Athena Greek Restaurant is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Cook to add to our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Mediterranean cuisine, particularly Greek dishes, and the ability to maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation. You will work closely with the Executive Chef and management to ensure smooth kitchen operations while upholding the restaurant's culinary reputation. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and execute traditional Greek dishes according to established recipes. Manage daily kitchen operations, including overseeing prep, cooking, and plating. Ensure food is consistently prepared and served to the highest standards. Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a team environment. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, following health and safety regulations. Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Head Cook or similar leadership role in a fast-paced kitchen. Strong knowledge of Greek and Mediterranean cuisine. Excellent culinary skills with a keen eye for detail. Ability to lead and motivate a team, ensuring efficiency and collaboration. Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
