Joo Ok is a contemporary Korean fine dining restaurant. Led by Chef Shin Chang Ho, highly decorated and recognized for his commitment to hansik [Korean Cuisine]. Joo Ok is relocating from Seoul, Korea to NYC's Koreatown, opening this spring. Michelin 1 star (2018 - 2021) Michelin 2 star (2022 - 2023) Position summary: Assistant Sommelier must be able to carry out exception service, recommending wine, provide wine knowledge, and assist beverage leader with inventory and RandD. Sommeliers work as part of the service team, in dedicated sections each shift along with captain, front server, and back servers. Qualifications: At least 2+ years experience in a reputable, well-regarded restaurant Strong communication skills Team-oriented and positive attitude Required CMS-1 Sommelier Responsibilities: Service based role delivering consistently excellent service Focusing on wine service during shift, setting up and breaking down Working with beverage team to execute, maintain and improve wine program Participate in all steps of service as needed during shift We are grateful for your interest in joining our team.
