JOB SUMMARY: Work cooperatively with county and state staff, project coordinators and enrolled producers to implement the objectives of the Climate-Smart Grown in SC (Forest Products) Project statewide. Serve on the Natural Resources Program Team. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. JOB DUTIES: 60% - Essential: Collaborate with Extension Associates and Agents to coordinate and deliver Cooperative Extension components of Climate-Smart Grown in SC Forest Products Project. Liaise between enrolled producers and project staff to ensure that program implementation, reporting requirements and research goals are met. 15% - Essential: Provide adequate, timely, useful, and research-based information to clientele and stakeholders by means of mass media, newsletters, direct mail, telephone, electronic means, and clientele groups. Educate clientele through direct methods such as individual consultation, training classes, group meetings, tours, workshops, and demonstrations. Use online/virtual tactics as needed. 10% - Essential: Collaborate across Program Teams to develop, deliver, and evaluate educational programming using direct and indirect methods. Support day-to-day functions of Extension and Climate-Smart staff, as needed, by being available to the staff and public, and willing to assist with general Extension inquiries. 10% - Essential: Document programming impacts for targeted stakeholders and contribute to all relevant Extension and grant project reporting requirements. 5% - Essential: Identify and participate in opportunities for self-improvement and professional development such as professional and in-service trainings. Obtain supervisory approval prior to registration and participation. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: 1st Bachelor's Degree - Animal husbandry, agriculture or a related field and experience in agricultural research or animal care that is directly related to the area of employment. Work experience in animal care or agricultural research may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: Education: 1st Master's Degree - Forestry, natural resources, agriculture or a related field of experience. RESPONSIBILITIES JOB KNOWLEDGE Firm Job Knowledge - Firm working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use in varied situations SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No Supervisory Duties - Not responsible for supervising employees. BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 20% - Stand for prolonged period 50% - Sit (stationary position) for prolonged period 60% - Walk or move about WORKING CONDITIONS: Exposure to heat or cold Wet or humid Overnight Travel WORK SCHEDULE: Standard Hours: 37.5 COMPENSATION INFORMATION Anticipated Salary Range: ($32,700.00 - $46,000.00) Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines. ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL Normal Operations Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
