Position Overview: As an Expediter, you will be responsible for ensuring that all food orders are prepared, plated, and delivered to guests promptly and accurately. You will play a key role in maintaining the flow of service, quality control, and communication between the Culinary and Service teams Key Responsibilities: Order Coordination: Receive and prioritize food orders from the POS system. Coordinate timing between different kitchen stations to ensure dishes are prepared and plated simultaneously. Ensure that each dish is presented according to Saftas standards and specs before it leaves the kitchen. Quality Control: Inspect each plate for proper presentation Ensure that dishes are hot and properly garnished before leaving the pass. Communicate with the kitchen team if any dish needs to be re-fired or adjusted. Adhere to the established allergy matrix Communication: Act as the primary communication link between the and the Service and culinary team. Relay any special instructions, dietary restrictions, or modifications to the kitchen staff, have a thorough understanding of the allergy matrix Notify servers when orders are ready in a calm and consistent way, adhering to the open kitchen guidelines Coordinate courses to maintain a smooth dining experience for guests. Timing Management: Monitor the flow of orders and manage the pacing of food preparation to ensure timely service during peak hours, Maintain a clean and organized expo station throughout service. Problem-Solving: Quickly address any issues that arise during service, such as missing or incorrect orders, and work with the Culinary and Service team to resolve them. Ensure that any delays or problems are communicated effectively to the Service team members and management . Qualifications: Previous experience in a restaurant kitchen or as an expediter is preferred. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both Culinary and Service teams. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation. Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure. Ability to stand for long periods and handle the physical demands of the job.
