This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits. Note to Current State Employees: The salary grade for this position is NC15. State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result. Primary Duties/Responsibilities of Position: The primary responsibility for this position is to serve as the organizational expert regarding Real Property for the NC National Guard Planning and Programming Department within the Construction and Facilities Management Office. The employee performs professional, multidisciplinary work in the management, acquisition and disposition of real property. The employee reports to the Director of Planning and Programming and serves as the primary point of contact for real property questions for North Carolina Army National Guard (NCARNG) facilities statewide, National Guard Bureau (NGB), and other Federal and state agencies. The employee serves at the subject matter expert on all real property inspections, inventory verification, acquisitions and disposals statewide. Descriotion of Work Unit and/or Division: This is professional work in the management, acquisition, and disposition of real property for the state. Employees investigate, make on-site inspections, evaluate and make recommendations to higher-level managers pertaining to the acquistion and disposition of real property for the North Carolina National Guard. This position is soley responsible for ensuring the real property records maintained in the Planning Resource for Infrastructure Development and Evaluation (PRIDE) are accurate and certified annually. This position will conduct onsite inspections, for inventory verification, of at least twenty percent of the NCNG Facilities annually. Work includes inputting all lease requirements into PRIDE to program for federal funding. This position will also be the lead on all real property audits by higher level agencies' (National Guard Bureau, Department of the Army, etc. About the NC Dept. of Public Safety (DPS): The mission of DPS is to safeguard and preserve the lives and property of the people of North Carolina through prevention, protection, and preparation with integrity and honor. To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following: * Considerable knowledge of both state and federal real property management procedures including acquisitions, disposals and verification of existence and usage of real property. * Experience understanding federal and state guidelines regarding the utilization of real property * Experience accurately recording and analyzing data * Experience of the application of real property accountability procedures * Experience interacting with all levels of government, management and the general public.
