Located on eighty rolling acres in picturesque Rappahannock County, Virginia, Blue Rock is a new take on the classic country restaurant and inn. Breathtaking views overlooking a Koi pond set against a backdrop of vineyards and the Blue Ridge Mountains, create the perfect environment to have a glass of wine, delicious dinner, or throw a dream wedding. We are seeking energetic, friendly and highly motivated individuals with a passion for cooking for a Chef de Partie position. This position is best for someone who is looking for a learning environment, and one day hopes to be the Chef of their own kitchen. A passion for hospitality, a sense of urgency, and attention to detail are a must for this individual. Role and Responsibilities: Demonstrates a passion for food preparation and excellence Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies. Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces) Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff. Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef's instructions. Clean up station and take care of leftover food. Stock inventory appropriately. Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion. Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards. Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers. Memorize and utilize our serving portion sizes and all basic meal prep procedures used in the kitchen. Monitor product freshness and rotate out old product based on a schedule created by the restaurant Requirements and Qualifications: 1+ years of experience working in restaurant kitchens Knowledge of professional cooking principles, current applicable food codes and other relevant safety regulations Weekend and evening availability
