Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes, following recipes and presentation guidelines. Ensure all food items are prepared to the restaurant's standards for taste, presentation, and portion size. Supervise and support kitchen staff, including line cooks and prep cooks, ensuring they follow recipes and standards. Provide training and guidance to new and existing kitchen staff. Assist in scheduling kitchen staff and managing shift operations to ensure efficiency. Conduct regular quality checks on all dishes and ingredients to ensure consistency and adherence to standards. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen. Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies to ensure the availability of fresh ingredients. Help manage food costs by minimizing waste and ensuring proper storage and rotation of ingredients. Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and conducting regular stock checks. Ensure all kitchen equipment is in good working order and report any maintenance needs. Implement and enforce food safety and sanitation practices in compliance with local health regulations. Assist in maintaining a safe working environment for all kitchen staff. Participate in kitchen meetings and provide updates on kitchen operations and staff performance. Qualifications: Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a high-volume kitchen, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role preferred. Strong culinary skills with a good understanding of various cooking techniques and cuisines. Proven ability to lead and motivate a team. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards. Creative and innovative approach to food preparation. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
