THE OPPORTUNITY: At Lakeshirts, we strive to continually stay on-trend, pushing the boundaries of creativity having produced over 200,000 new designs in the last 5 years alone and 26,000 design modifications yearly. Our techniques include: screenprint, embroidery & applique, stickers and pretty much everything else under the sun. Whew! We're looking for a highly organized, detail-driven, boots-on-the-ground (literally, at our headquarters in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota) team member to support our Production Art Team in our continuing endeavor to WOW Our Customers with our on-trend, unique artwork. This team member will be responsible for leading our awesome Production Art Team that is over 100 strong and consists of both onsite and remote team members who collaborate daily to transform ideas into the products our customers love. The Production Art team works most closely with Line Development who creates the designs and Production who produces the finished product. Schedule: Monday-Friday, hours TBD. A Typical Day (job functions) | Leading from the Front + Leading Through Others + Daily Direction Setting + Execution + Keep The Value Stream Moving * Build, lead and motivate the Production Art team by providing clear purpose and direction to maximize performance * Lead the Daily Direction Setting process, helping the team to prioritize daily workloads to ensure on-time delivery to our customers (there's that value of WOW Our Customers coming in to play!) * Develop and monitor key metrics to ensure performance targets are being met * Work collaboratively with Operations to ensure adequate workflow to the production floor * Collaborate with Line Development to ensure art direction and visual presentation delivers intended result * Provide production art support to Line Development and Creative Directors for new program releases, art packs and sample production * Partner with our Technical Manager and Quality Manager on new applications, techniques, Continuous Improvement (there's another core value!) and training activities * Own the continuous improvement plan for the production art team, identifying opportunities and helping others execute on great ideas through our NIMBLE program. Collaborate cross-functionally to identify and implement process improvements * Other duties as assigned. Skills (qualifications) | High-Level Organization + Direction of Multiple Parties + Eye for Detail + Artistic Aptitude + Get It Done Team-First Mentality * Degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, Graphic Design or related field * Proven experience leading and managing in a fast-paced environment * Experience in supporting manufacturing operations or the apparel, headwear, or accessory industry is a big plus & an artistic eye is essential * Highly experienced using Microsoft Office (especially Excel). * Ability to learn our CRM (Salesforce) and Adobe (Illustrator) products will be critical to the success and ease of executing the position. * A talent for analyzing data and solving problems to keep projects on track and meet deadlines * Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, ever changing environment; Nimble and open minded * Must love dogs (we kinda like them at our MN headquarters, and we hope you do, too) * Embraces our culture and actively contributes to it Cognitive or Mental Requirements of the Job: Employee must be able to see and hear, read and write.
