Position Summary : Rokusho LA is seeking a dedicated part-time Prep Cook to join our team as we bring an exciting new culinary concept to the heart of Hollywood. Under the guidance of our Head Chef, the Prep Cook will support the kitchen team by preparing the ingredients that bring our innovative Japanese-LA fusion dishes to life. This role involves assisting with food preparation prior to opening, ensuring high-quality, consistency, and efficiency in all kitchen tasks. Daily Responsibilities : Prepare ingredients such as sauces, soups, stocks, and other menu components in accordance with recipe specifications. Follow prep lists created by the Head Chef to ensure readiness for service. Properly measure and prepare all ingredients, strictly following recipe guidelines. Maintain a clean and organized prep station, sanitizing knives, cutting boards, and work areas. Label, date, and rotate all prepared ingredients, ensuring standards and company guidelines are met. Assist in organizing and cleaning the walk-in coolers and storage areas. Possess an understanding of all ingredients and products used. Prioritize safety in all kitchen activities, adhering to department and company safety standards. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Chef team. Physical Requirements : Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. Role may involve repetitive motions, including chopping and cutting. Exposure to hot kitchen elements and cleaning materials. Skills/Experience : Previous back-of-house or kitchen experience preferred. Must be available to work 6-hour shifts, with flexibility for weekends and holidays. Valid Food Handlers' card required.
