Chef's Special Cocktail Bar in Bucktown is seeking a Sous Chef with a strong foundation in leadership, creative menu execution and administrative experience to join our talented team. A fundamental aspect of this role is the ability to collaborate with other team members and to serve as a liaison between the AM and PM teams while maintaining a positive and professional approach. Candidates must have excellent critical thinking, resourcefulness, organizational and communication skills with an in-depth knowledge of various cooking methods, seasonality, ingredients, equipment, and processes. A strong expertise of high volume service and production is essential to the role. Sustaining and creating good relationships with local purveyors. -Organizing daily production schedules and lists. -Maintaining quality control of product. Keeping all areas clean, tidy, and organized while upholding and enforcing overall sanitation standards. -Overseeing recipe execution and accuracy. -Implementing and improving existing systems. Identifying issues and finding practical solutions. -Providing support to other kitchen employees with various tasks including expediting, food preparation, line cooking, and dish plating. -Creating schedules for AM kitchen employees and evaluating their performance. Recruiting and training new employees. -Monitoring and recording inventory. -Executing daily family meal with the help of the staff. Bi-Lingual spanish communication skills not required but is a plus. Experience with Toast POS, MS Office,
