What you will be doing: Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in operating a variety of machines to manufacture parts or products while enforcing safety regulations. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; resolving conflicts, appraising performance; rewarding and recognizing employee contributions as well as addressing disciplinary actions. Additional Responsibilities: Prioritizes and delegates resources and people throughout the shift Coordinates manpower requirements to meet changing conditions Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems Directs work in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products which fail to meet standards Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments Train and/or record training of employees Maintain an appropriate labor-management relationship with subordinates, union, and human resources to discuss and eliminate problems Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations Plans flow of materials through department and develops physical layout of machines according to work order, with the Engineering Department Interfaces with cross-functional teams to ensure customer deadlines are met Verify amounts of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and requisitions materials from storage area Analyzes work orders to estimate worker hours and maintain machine schedules that meet both internal and external customer needs Inspects and measures parts and product to verify conformance to specifications Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals Coordinates activities with other supervisors to ensure seamless shift change Reports machine and equipment malfunction to maintenance personnel Maintain time and production records Interprets specification and job orders to workers and assigns duties What you will bring along: Education- High school diploma or GED 2-4 years related experience Effective oral and written communication skills; experience presenting to external customers and internal teams Proficient in MS Office products such as MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint Ability to solve practical problems Must be comfortable working in an environment with pivoting priorities Basic math skills to create and/or interpret data for metrics reporting (ratios/percentages, common fractions) Other responsibilities as assigned Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to be on their feet and/or walking for long periods of time and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
