The Supervisor, Production manages people and supply resources to drive quality, service and productivity. This position collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to identify and influence opportunities for process improvement and initiate changes to the production staffing, product quality and optimal production line flow. * WHAT YOU'LL DO * Production Management * Oversee the production planning, staffing, and day-to-day production operations in a cost-effective manner including organizing workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks and provide regular updates to employees and inform of any changes * Exemplify, in behavior and actions, the understanding and implementation of all quality processes and procedures * Monitor production orders or schedules to ensure products and scheduled product completion /delivery dates are met in order to plan department operations * Plan the daily and weekly production operations in conjunction with the procurement team and establish priorities and sequences for assigned products * Create Key Product Indicators (KPI) for each product line and continuously monitor the progress, creating a recovery plan as needed to meet any KPI falling below the established measure * Propose and implement changes to existing processes to streamline and improve overall performance while maintaining cost controls and creating cost effective use of resources * Leverage resources such as Engineering, Procurement, Logistics and Production Maintenance to resolve production issue involving parts or machinery, and suggest a solution to action People Management * Create personal performance accountability by sharing KPI's and setting expectations on how to meet the goals * Coach and counsel line leaders on how to manage the assigned production line, and when to ask for intervention from the supervisor or engineering depending on the specific issue * Provide training to line leads and production operators on quality processes and procedures and compliance by monitoring quality on the production line * Monitor hourly employee attendance and create the appropriate corrective action and administer the action to the employee * Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching * Manage performance issues with employees and determine if retraining is needed or if starting the corrective action process is warranted * Conduct performance reviews for all employees and provide feedback of performance gaps * When a job opening occurs, determine the best way to fill the opening, regular employee or temporary agency employee and review the job description with HR or Temporary Staffing Manager, depending on the decision Operational Excellence * Manage "Lean" process improvements for BIUS to reduce waste, develop cost improvement plans, improve team's operational performance, efficiency, throughput, and implement process changes. * Develop and lead cross-functional teams to achieve innovative solutions to improve the BIUS value proposition. * Gather, collect, organize, prioritize, conduct statistical analysis, and present data concerning business and project opportunities. Compliance * Ensure employees perform work in a safe, organized, and clean work environment in an efficient manner in compliance with regulatory and company policies * Adhere to company and OSHA safety regulations and regularly conduct safety work inspections * Follow safe work procedures and identify and report unsafe practices to management immediately * ABOUT OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE * Education * Associate's Degree (or equivalent experience) Business Management or Industrial Technology Required * Bachelor's Degree Business Management or Industrial Technology Preferred Experience * Minimum 5 years Experience in a supervisory or managerial role in a manufacturing or production facility Required Software/Technical Skills * MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT) Intermediate Required Other Skills/Knowledge/Abilities * Ability to make suggestions and informed decisions quickly Required * Possess strong organizational and time management skills Required * Ability to motivate, coach, and lead hourly employees Required * Demonstrated sound leadership skills with a sense of urgency to obtain result Required * Have a critical eye for improvements in all areas of responsibility Required * ADDITIONAL DETAILS FOR THIS ROLE * This role will be onsite role. #On-site * The salary (or hiring) range for this position is $61,000 - $81,000 per year. * Starting salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location, and alignment with market data. * This position is eligible to participate in the relevant Brother variable pay incentive plan(s).
