The Production Supervisor, 3rd shift position will ensure the safe and efficient operation of plant processes, support continuous improvement efforts through the application of the Crane Business System, and oversee the training and development of production associates. The Production Supervisor must understand and embrace Crane values: Intellectual Capital, Operational Excellence, and Transparency. Responsibilities: * Ensure the safe operation of plant equipment through the enforcement of all applicable rules, policies, and operating procedures. Hold associates accountable when at risk behaviors or conditions are observed. * Respond to all incidents including first-aid, near miss, and property damage and ensure that all necessary reports and documentation are completed on time. * Supervise the daily activities of the production staff to ensure that standards for safety, quality, delivery, and cost are maintained. * Ensure production associates are in compliance with company and department policies and work rules. Maintain consistency in compliance of these policies with other crews, shifts, and departments. * Ensure production personnel are properly trained with appropriate training documentation on record. See to it that staffing is sufficient to support production and appropriate personnel are cross-trained in back-up positions to provide uninterrupted production operations. * Monitor production line activity on a continuous basis and immediately respond to operational, personnel, or quality issues. * Support continuous improvements efforts through the application of the Crane Business System. * Motivate and support the Production staff to achieve targets for all key performance indicators. * Evaluate employee performances on a regular basis and as needed, provide performance feedback, counseling, coaching, disciplinary warnings, or other corrective action. * Maintain a clean and hazard free work environment. Immediately correct any unsatisfactory housekeeping or hazardous conditions that come to your attention or are in your work area. * Communicate with team members, supervisors, and management to ensure that shift changes, schedule changes, equipment problems, quality concerns, and safety hazards are managed effectively. * Ensure that manpower needs are met for each shift and that coverage is provided for vacations, sick days, turnover, training, and other events. * Complete department reports and paperwork in a timely and accurate manner. * Be able to assume responsibility for plant security. * Lead by example through actions, communications, and attitude. Skills and Qualifications: * 2-5 years of demonstrated success in leading / managing others * Bilingual in English and Spanish * Working knowledge of environmental & OSHA regulations * Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, through a variety of media * Working knowledge of Operational Excellence tools & applications * Computer skills in Microsoft Office software packages * A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred Company Summary Crane Composites Inc., a subsidiary of Crane Co.
