TITLE: Supervisor, Landscape Services POSITION NO.: P00220 SECTION: Landscape Services HIRING SALARY: $39,532.50 - $42,695.10 annually; all salary calculations to start at the minimum salary. HOURS: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Mon-Fri CONTACT: Human Resources (850) 201-8510 or via email at MAJOR FUNCTION: Supervises and oversees all activities, functions and operations of landscaping services on a College-wide basis; Related to the upkeep-repair and improvements of grounds and landscape services. Upgrades the effectiveness and efficiency of the grounds keeping staff; coordinates all safety training, oversees the proper functioning of the irrigation systems. Designs and implements cost, labor and energy savings programs. Helps develop and maintain budget and other assignments as directed. Supervises Equipment Mechanic and Athletic field grounds keepers. Supervises Tree and shrub care, storm pond maintenance and general landscaper duties. Other Duties as assigned. TSC's Exposure Control Plan (ECP) governs the College's compliance with OSHA standards and is applicable to all employees who have occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens. "¯The College has identified this position as having occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens."¯ At-risk employees, where occupational exposure is reasonably anticipated, will be offered the HBV vaccination at no cost. * Coordinates activities of Landscaping Services and Provides supervision to landscaper staff in the cleaning, weeding, mulching flower and border beds; care and maintenance of annual flower beds; watering yards and flowers as needed; edging, trimming, and pruning trees, flowers and shrubbery; planting flowers, trees and shrubs (new and replacement). * Provides supervision to landscaper staff in Mowing grounds, activity fields and fringe areas. * Providing supervision to landscaper staff in Policing and cleaning grounds, parking lots, and walkways. Sweeping and cleaning exterior stairwells, walkways and breezeways weekly. * Coordinates inventor and purchasing of supplies and provides minor repairs as needed. MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from a standard high school or equivalency diploma and five years of experience in Grounds keeping and landscaping work, two years of which must have been at the supervisory level. A two-year degree or higher may substitute for the required supervisory experience. ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Required job duties are normally outside in extreme heat/high humidity or cold weather and require essential physical abilities such as lifting, carrying, pushing more than 75 pounds; walking standing; bending; stooping; good vision and hearing; reaching above shoulders; working with chemicals; etc. "¯Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform an essential function. Ability to work independently. Ability and dexterity to walk, bend, climb ladders, work outdoors in all kids of weather. Knowledge of proper use and care of motorized grounds equipment. Proper verbal communication skills.
