Office of Legal & Acquisition Services The Office of Legal and Acquisition Services (OLAS), Bureau of State Hearings conducts fair hearings and provides due process for appeals related to the program benefits administered by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and its state partner agencies. What You'll Do: * Manages projects related to the Hearing and Appeals Tracking System (HATS X) and the State Hearing Access to Records Electronically (SHARE) applications with or without sub-projects covering all phases of project management. * Directs deliverables to program area for operations and use. * Focuses on testing, modification, and monitoring of deliverables including participation in user acceptance testing efforts. * Defines project requirements, timelines, and quality standards consisted with program area objectives. Determines and evaluates risks that may affect project. * Provides progress reports and performance data to program area management. * Originates project presentations to educate/train end users and stakeholders. Challenges: * The Bureau of State Hearings is a fast-paced, production environment due to the volume of work and the requirement to meet federal standards and timelines. You should be able to recognize and shift priorities as necessary. Necessary Skills: * You must be able to operate a personal computer and all applicable ODJFS software applications including Tableau. You should have experience with public policy management or public administration, project management, life cycle methodologies, and time management. You should be able to manage multiple demands or tasks on projects or applications. You should be able to review and evaluate project progress and communicate effectively in a team setting. Schedule: 8-5, M-F Opportunity for flex schedule can be considered which meets operational needs of the program area. Travel: Although this position does not require more than occasional travel, you must be able to travel, as required, to county offices, designated state facilities, or remote locations PN(s): 20074052 The ideal candidate, at minimum, must have the following: OPTION 1: * 4 yrs. exp. in project management (i.e., management & development of project/program requirements, design, development, testing/pilot, training & full scale implementation), with experience to be commensurate with project/program &/or position description on file (e.g., specific human service program area, management information sciences, fiscal); AND * 12 mos. exp. in budgeting & calculating cost projections of program/projects Option 2: * Successful completion of 2 yrs. post-secondary education majoring in business administration, public administration, computer science/information technology, social science, or health, with major being commensurate with project to be assigned AND * 12 mos. exp. in budgeting & calculating cost projections of program/projects; Or * Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above. Pay Information This position is in the State of Ohio's E1 Pay Schedule, Pay Range 15. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $41.23 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.
