At Bar 91, Eli's vision of the perfect neighborhood bistro, the wine list is an extension of our main cellar, offering an ambitious and diverse wine-by-the-glass program. The Role: The Sommelier will be responsible for wine service on the floor, maintaining and growing an extensive wine cellar and providing unique and thoughtful wine experiences. You will contribute to our ongoing staff education program and keep our team up to date on all changes to the wine list and the wine program. You will be working alongside our Wine Director to ensure the cellar is organized and service goes smoothly. Sommeliers work as part of the service team and must act as leaders on the floor, driving service and enhancing the guest experience through all beverage offerings. The position requires a minimum of three years of similar professional experience in an upscale dining environment, a teamwork mindset, a strive for excellence and learning. The ideal candidate will be passionate about hospitality and possess strong communication skills. A Day In Your Life With Us: Among your many accomplishments from day-to-day, your responsibilities will include the following: Daily wine cellar management, including the physical ability to perform the maintenance and organization of our 60,000-bottle cellar. Daily operations on the floor leading our teams through service at Eli's Table and Bar 91. Staff tastings Staff trainings Development of a program of wine centric events at Eli's Table. Growth of our client base as a result of growing our wine program. Administrative and computer-based activities.
