Primary Objectives of Position: Trans Ova (Bryan, TX Center) is seeking a Cattle Production Assistant Intern to assist with cattle procedures, data entry, & organization to help serve our clients. This is a Professional Service internship that includes in-clinic & on-farm OPU / Transfer procedures in which the intern will be client facing working with some of the most elite donors in any of a variety of breeds. Major Areas of Accountability: * Assist the professional service team (PST) with chute side procedures. * Learn to effectively enter data and maintain accurate records of procedures in the TOG Ova Drive System. * Provide reproductive management expertise to clients that will improve reproductive performance in their herds * Provide low stress handling of recipient and donor animals through working facilities * Provide timely and excellent client service to haul in clients. * Organize & maintain inventories needed for in-clinic & on-farm procedures. * Summarize and present data to TOG team members & staff on CL competency project. * Gain an understanding of the TOG OPU procedure and relay the benefits of this procedure to TOG customers and prospects. * Be willing to work with TOG full-time staff as well as independently communicating with customers. * Maintain a professional image reflective of Trans Ova's position in the industry. * Provide detailed feedback on the summer experience, as well as data acquired on CL competency & resulting pregnancy rates. Qualifications: * Strong cattle background with experience working with Bos Indicus & Bos Taurus cattle. * Working towards a degree in Animal Science or Reproduction or equivalent experience is preferred. * Experience handling cattle, some with aggressive natures (Bucking Stock, Brahman, Brangus). * Self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Able to communicate effectively and get along with people of all backgrounds. * Willingness to learn and develop both personally and professionally. * Computer skills are required; and ability to work with a windows-based system.
