ABOUT THE ROLE The Event Houseperson is responsible for ensuring our events are flawlessly executed by contributing to the set up, breakdown, moving furniture and equipment, and overall maintenance of event spaces. This role ensures all details are meticulously executed per event detail specifications. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIS : Execute event setup, arrangement, tasks throughout event, and breakdown including supporting arrangement of chairs, linens, furniture, equipment, and any other need according to event specifications Maintain polished, presentable and neat appearance at all times while exhibiting professional etiquette Set up room according to BEO and Floor Plan Address maintenance issues or hazard promptly and efficiently Perform routine inspections to ensure space is clean, safe, and presentable Move large heavy and fragile items/furniture for set-up of events and breakdown Set up tables, chairs, cocktail tables, high boys, satellite bars, easels Break down after every event and store in appropriate areas Box linen when needed for an event. Stock and organize all event items, collateral, rentals, etc Support with inventory counts and needs Place all protective gear for load in and load out Make necessary changes to the space throughout events as needed and/or upon client request Operate ethically to protect the assets and image of the company Performs other duties, tasks and responsibilities as per business need KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Prior experience in a banquet event set-up/maintenance role preferably in a high-end, upscale setting and/or equivalent relevant experience Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently under pressure Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written , across all levels within the organization Be proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team cooperatively Able to take direction and work in an everchanging environment with multiple priorities Must have open availability including early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS "¯ Ability to lift and carry items weighing 75 pounds on a regular basis."¯ Must be able to safely push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs Ability to stand for prolong periods of time."¯"¯"¯"¯"¯"¯ Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the property."¯ Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, climb steps regularly, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment."¯"¯"¯"¯"¯"¯ COMPENSATION The base pay range for this position is $18 - $20 per hour.
