Kitchen Manager - Smokehouse BBQ and Brews We are accepting resumes for the position of Kitchen Manager of our well-known, restaurant located in Lancaster County. Smokehouse BBQ and Brews is part of the Thomas E. Strauss, Inc., which Miller's Smorgasbord, the Bakery at Miller's, the Amishview Inn and Suites, Locally Made Food Shop, and Plain and Fancy Farm. The right candidate will have experience in managing a strong BOH staff with proven success. A hands-on Manager, the position includes working stations, expediting, opening shifts and closing shifts. Candidates should be organized, possess excellent cooking skills, and lead by example. Qualifications: Minimum of 4 years management experience in the day-to-day operations of a busy, high-volume restaurant. Successful experience in executing both a la carte orders and banquet/private events simultaneously Ability to hire, onboard, train and develop a talented and focused staff Experience in the development of new recipes and reviewing and improving existing recipes. BBQ experience a plus, and familiarity with the latest food trends Knowledge of making stocks, sauces and butchery skills a plus Creativity and Passion for food production and working with high quality ingredients, in a scratch kitchen Proficiency with Microsoft Office, and POS systems A history of working with organizations who embrace management process and principles. Effective interpersonal skills in communicating with staff, management, owners, suppliers, and customers Job Responsibilities: Assist General Manager and upper management in driving the business to meet and exceed budgeted sales and operational costs Maintaining pre-established policies and procedures and suggesting improvements where necessary Create efficiencies in food production, manage a payroll, and creatively staff Recruit, hire, train, cross-train, and retain an exceptional staff. Must lead and develop a successful team by defining expectations, mentoring and teaching.
