Eleven Madison Park is a plant-based fine dining restaurant that overlooks Madison Square Park in New York City. First opened in 1998 as a French brasserie, the restaurant has been headed by Chef Daniel Humm since 2006 and owned by his company Make it Nice Hospitality since 2011. Eleven Madison Park has evolved significantly under his leadership both in food and in experience, earning several accolades including 4 stars from the New York Times and 3 stars from the Michelin guide. In 2021, Eleven Madison Park reopened its doors post-pandemic as a completely plant-based restaurant. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Human Resources Manager (full time in person) to oversee the entire employee lifecycle - from recruiting and onboarding to payroll, benefits adminitration and exit interviews. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a Human Resources role, ideally in hospitality, be well-versed in the various HR laws surrounding New York City restaurants, and be organized and detail oriented. Reports to: Chief Financial Officer Duties and Responsibilities Recruiting and Hiring Coordinate with hiring managers to define accurate job requirements, update job descriptions, post available positions , f acilitate interview scheduling D etermine appropriate and innovative recruiting strategies Organize open-calls, when needed and follow up with all candidate applications Manage HR mailboxes Establish and maintain ongoing effective cross-organization communication programs regarding job openings and internal movement Manage the recruitment of interns/externs/graduates with local colleges; attend career fairs Issue offer letters and manage the entire onboarding process for new employees, including but not limited to, new hire paperwork, assigning lockers and uniforms, compiling welcome kits, initiating building access passes Organize and host bi-annual new hire orientations Oversee sexual harassment and discrimination prevention training program Serve as the primary point of contact for J-1 visitor exchange program and develop, maintain and submit training plans and other employer information for sponsor approval Conduct exit interviews Support the Kitchen and Dining Room teams with employee lifecycle management and other administrative tasks Payroll Process weekly payroll through ADP for Eleven Madison Park and Clemente Bar Maintain PTO balances for all employees Maintain employee records and input all changes into ADP Benefits Administration Administer employee benefits programs (health insurance, FSA, transit, PTO, employee dining, workers' compensation) Serve as the point of contact to all employees with regard to benefits inquiries Manage annual benefits Open Enrollment Conduct regular bill audits Act as the primary point of contact for workers' compensation claims; maintain records of incident reports; follow up on open claims, as needed General Employee Administration Complete employment verification letters Maintain employee handbook to ensure all policies, procedures, and company information are up to date and legally compliant Be a cultural ambassador; administer employee dining program, distribute Culture Guides, oversee the employee Make it Nice award program Participate in staff line-ups and manager meetings periodically Requirements for Success 2+ years Human Resources experience required, hospitality industry prefered Ability to work independently and as a member of a team Strong computer skills with working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products and ADP Previous experience recruiting and interviewing Ability to handle data with confidentiality Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills Administrative experience Knowledge of applicable human resources and hospitality laws Ability to coordinate multiple tasks Ability to adapt and make decisions quickly in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and organizational skiils Bilingual English and Spanish, preferred This job description above does not list each and every job responsibility of the Human Resources Manager.
