Overnight Production Supervisor Reports to: Director of Operations Responsibilities Supervise daily activities of production employees Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations Support, coach and develop employees by providing ongoing feedback and direction; conducts performance reviews and initiate disciplinary actions, when necessary Work with Lead Supervisor to coordinate operations, production activities for best practices and consistency across all shifts Plan and establish work schedules, breaks, assignments and production sequences to meet production goals Provide machine cover if necessary to maximize machine hours Ensure training is efficient and completed thoroughly for all employees and new hires Ensure a safe work environment for all employees and reliable safety methods are in place and followed Responsible for quality verifications, frequent checks of products and ensure that all Quality policies and procedures are followed Resolves all production and resulting quality problems, and raise N/C reports for on-conforming product including disposition Knowledgeable of the production process and all associated equipment Accountable for providing completed shift documentation on decisions, shift issues, actions and status updates for the shift Responsible for reviewing and authorizing proper time records and PTO requests for all employees on the shift, tracking attendance issues Understands, follows and enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices Exercising authority and independent judgment on the shift in the interest of the Company Maintain a supportive and productive work atmosphere through professional conduct and effective communication with all teams in a fair and consistent manner Prepare and conduct team meetings as necessary for proper communication Responsible for Food Safety within scope of work, including adherence to site Hygiene Code of Practice and SQF / FDA regulatory requirements, and reporting of food safety concerns / improvement suggestions; Responsible for Food Safety on designated shift All other duties as assigned Safety Ensure Safety is being held to the highest standard Inspect Work Areas -When recognized, unsafe conditions & behaviors need to be corrected immediately and reported to the Safety Committee (if necessary) Accidents & Near Misses -Ensure all accidents/near misses have been reported, investigated, and documented in a timely manner. Enforce Safety Rules -Initiate appropriate measures with employees who fail to follow established safety procedures RequirementsQualifications Required Experience 5 years in a Supervisor role within a manufacturing environment or similar having direct personnel responsibility of 20 or more employees. 5 years' experience coaching, developing, conflict resolution, providing disciplinary actions to direct personnel, as needed. Other Qualifications High School diploma; College degree in industrial technology, business, management, or related field preferred. Proven ability to lead and/or supervise and develop teams. Intermediate computer skills including e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheets Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressure Ability to work in cross-functional teams Good organization and problem-solving skills Detail-oriented nature. Approximately 80% of the time performing job duties is spent in a typical manufacturing environment near moving mechanical parts. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to walk. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: Full time hours. Typically, 45 hours per week. Depending on business needs, may be more or less.
