The Senior Inventory Accountant also ensures that SOX controls and reporting requirements placed on a public company are properly executed. Position Responsibilities: * Responsible for the preparation, to include adequate supporting documentation, and review of General Ledger Journal entries during the month-end close. * Responsible for understanding the full inventory cycle and supporting inventory control teams in the field, via remote or travel (travel is not mandatory but encouraged) * Responsible for reconciliation of sub-ledger and GL for all inventory transactions. * Responsible for development and maintenance of account analysis/reconciliation process. * Ensures that all account analysis/reconciliation procedures comply with GAAP. Process must include adequate documentation such as account reconciliation summary and documentation of accounting entries for manager/supervisor review. * Responsible for monthly Balance sheet review for all assigned areas of the balance sheet; this review includes variance analysis to last year and current year budget and resolution of all outstanding issues. * Responsible for any ad-hoc analysis requests from client groups in finance and other functional areas. * Ensures that all warehouses are complying with company standard operating procedures and performing SOX controls correctly. The ideal candidate should posses: * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Ability to drive process improvement * Very strong organizational skills * Ability to meet strict deadlines * Intermediate Excel as well as analytical and complex spreadsheet skills Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a business related field 2 years of experience specific to inventory or supply chain industry accounting Preferred Qualifications Beginner level SAP skills
