WORK FROM HOME APPLICANTS SHOULD NOT APPLY.Position SummaryWe're seeking a ISA Certified Arborists (Utility Specialist and/or TRAQ a plus) as Vegetation Management Quality Control Specialist.This will be a field-based, contract-dependent role. Professionals will be deployed to various locations within our client's territory throughout Central Valley North, including but not limited to: Angels Camp, Sonora, Jackson, Bear Valley, Groveland and other surrounding areas. The primary responsibility will be providing QC support to our Client's Vegetation Management Program.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInspect rights-of-way to assess vegetation conditions and determine required maintenance activitiesResearch easement and land rights for widths, rights, and restrictionsMeet with landowners to explain vegetation management workMark work in the field where requiredRespond to public concerns and questions about the workRespond to contractor questions concerning work specification and requirementsDocument work activity using GIS equipped computer & custom work planning softwareInspect work completed by contractors for compliance to utility specificationsProvide support and assistance on special projects as assigned by the utilityAbility to accurately identify tree, plant species and have working knowledge of growth rates and measurementsQuailficationsMust be 18 years of age or olderArboriculture (Tree Work, Landscaping, PI, etc.): 4 years requiredMust be able to work in an independent manner with minimal supervisionPunctual, professional, and detail- orientedStrong written and verbal communication skills are a necessityCustomer relation and conflict resolution skillsAbility to read and follow mapsMust be proficient in using technology including cell phone, tablet, apps, GPS, Microsoft Office Suite, and range findersCollector App knowledge and experience desiredValid Driver's License with a Clean Record in good standing. Possess the ability to drive and operate a 4X4 vehicleAbility to be on your feet for long hours while working outdoors and in rugged terrain and inclement weatherCurrent CPR/First Aid/AED certificationPre-employment drug screen and background checkPreferred QualificationsA 2 or 4-year degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Biology, Environmental studies, or related field - or7+ years of satisfactory experience working on electrical utility projects
