Coordinator, Transportation Innovation Center Department: Transportation Location: Transportation Center Reports To: Director, Transportation Innovation Center Recruitment Type: External/Internal Requisition ID: req4637 Employment Type: Part-Time Support Staff Union Position: Non-Union Work Schedule: Standard College Hours: M-F, 8:30am-5pm Number of Openings: 1 Job Description: SUMMARY Helps coordinates the day to day operations of CDL student training at the Transportation Innovation Center. Support the CDL Training program in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the State Records keeping process. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Coordinates the activities of the CDL Driver Training Program * Schedules student testing and the scheduling of truck company recruiters * Maintains data base relating to student training hours, and program completion * Tracks student performance, pass rates and attendance records * Completes truck company student training verification requests * Provides support in tracking student job placement information * Collaborates with office staff and instructors to ensure student records are completed prior to their completion of the CDL Training program * Sustains good communication and positive working relationships with all individuals attending and visiting the program * Works cooperatively to accommodate the needs of students, instructors, staff and the community * Coordinates the maintenance and servicing of the department's equipment * Develops and maintains relationships with key contacts to enhance work flow and quality * Performs other duties as assigned REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING * High School Diploma/GED * Minimum of three years of experience working at coordinating program needs in a fast-paced office environment * Possess basic level proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint or equivalent software * Demonstrated experience effectively making decisions that have major implications on the management and operations within a department * Demonstrated experience in a role requiring diverse problem solving methods in a variety of situations KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES * Ability to effectively complete work assignments independently * Basic-level proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications such as Outlook, Word and PowerPoint * Intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access * Ability to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivity * Works accurately with great attention to detail * Possesses excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills * Ability to prioritize/handle multiple tasks and work with deadlines in a dynamic environment with limited supervision * Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population PERFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (Or equivalent job-related experience providing the necessary knowledge, skill, and abilities to perform the functions of this position proficiently) EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING * Associate's degree or Vocational/Technical Degree * Five years of previous administrative experience in a fast-paced office environment COMPETENCIES CRITICAL COMPETENCIES * Customer Service * Flexibility / Adaptability VERY IMPORTANT COMPETENCIES * Servant Leadership * Time Utilization / Organization * Results Focus * Quality of Work IMPORTANT COMPETENCIES * Collaboration / Inclusion * Communication * Continuous Improvement / Innovation PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS (The demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
