Troubleshoot problems specializing in emergency equipment.Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the service and repair of all fire apparatus equipment.Testing and repairing equipment by traveling to the location of the customer.Provide troubleshooting and performing installation of equipment.Attending to the needs of the customer whenever required.Provide confirmation that equipment is functional.Provide telephone support to the customer in order to perform troubleshooting.Follow through to ensure equipment is in proper working condition after performing troubleshooting.QualificationsMust be willing to travel within an assigned territory.Must be dependable.Excellent customer service skills, both verbal and written.Must assume responsibility for high quality of repair process.Must have the ability to work independently or with less supervisionShould have excellent verbal communication skillsMust have the ability to work under pressureAbility to manage service callsEducation and/or ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GEDClean driving record with or able to obtain a Class B non-exempt CDL driver licenseKnowledge of repair principles and procedures in all areas of the Heavy Truck Repaid IndustryCertificates, Licenses, RegistrationsEVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician) and ASE Heavy Truck Certifications are a plusPhysical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk stairs and/or climb ladders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
