The 21,000-seat arena is a showcase arena for the company's industry-leading qualities as an operator and an innovator in the live event experience.Job SummaryMetal Detector staff are the initial touchpoint as guest enter the building for an event. They are posted at every entry point where magnetometers are in use. Metal Detector staff must be aware of policies and procedures for entry into the Wells Fargo Center, be able to provide clear and concise direction and execute their duties in a professional and courteous manner maintaining all standards of the Security and Services department and the Wells Fargo Center. Once the event ingress has been completed you may be reassigned to a secondary assignment.Job Description1st Position: GreeterGreet patrons as they are entering the building while simultaneously controlling the queue line.Greeters should look for any items that may not be permitted into the facility. Greeters must be able to advise patrons of our security procedures and instruct patrons of how to proceed through the magnetometer screening.2nd Position: Search AttendantAre responsible for ensuring that prohibited items do not pass through the screening area. Prohibited items lists are located at each magnetometer station and may be subject to change based on the nature of an event.Off-duty law enforcement are not permitted to carry a weapon into the building. Wells Fargo Center does not provide weapon storage areas.Ask all patrons to remove all items from their pockets, including keys, cell phones, and any metal items; directing patrons to place them into the search container for a visual inspection. Patrons should not remove their coats to walk through the form the patrons carrying purses to open and unzip all compartments so that the entire bag may be searched. Place hand firmly underneath the bag, feeling for any suspicious objects on the bottom of said bag. Open the bag and diligently examine with a wooden dowel and flashlight if necessary. Any suspicious items that could require further inspection must be brought to the attention of a supervisor. The owner of the purse or items should remain present during the inspection of their personal belongings. Items found during the search which are on the list of prohibited items must be discarded or returned to their vehicle prior to entry into the facility.Bags which exceed the acceptable size of 14"x14"x6" must be returned to the patron's vehicle or can be stored in lockers available for rent, located outside of the box office. All items being stored in the rented lockers are subject to the same search. Firearms are not permitted to be stored in rented lockers. Exceptions for the bag policy may be made by a trainer or supervisor in the case of medical necessity.A patron may walk through the magnetometer once they have removed items from their pockets and their bag has been searched. 3rd Position: Secondary ScreenerMonitor each individual as they pass through the metal detector while observing the lights and sounds of the unit.If an alarm is triggered the screener will request that the patron take all items out of their pockets again and walk back through the metal detector for a second time, again watching the unit for lights and sounds. If the unit does not alarm, allow him or her to pass. If the unit continues to indicate the presence of metal, ask the patron again to remove all items from his or her pockets and advise the patron that he or she will be subject to secondary screening such as wanding and/or pat down. All patrons utilizing a wheelchair will be subject to both wanding and pat- down procedures. In addition, any patron who has an implanted pacemaker or similar implanted device affecting the patron's heart may opt to be wanded and patted down in lieu of passing through the metal detector.
