Senior Accountant Job DescriptionIf your skills, experience, and qualifications match those in this job overview, do not delay your application.POSITION SUMMARYThe Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the Group Insurance business from an accounting/finance perspective, including setting up new group insurance customers, invoicing monthly premiums, processing vendor payments, managing treasury at PNC Bank, performing month-end close duties, preparing account reconciliations, and assisting in reporting analytics, and forecasts/budgets.RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for supporting the Group Insurance business from an accounting/finance perspective, including setup of escrow accounts for new group insurance customers,Prepare group insurance invoicing of monthly premiums,Processing vendor payments for the group insurance business,Responsible for treasury management at PNC Bank for the group insurance business.Responsible for general accounting duties, including month-end closing, analyzing data and GL accounts, preparing journal entries and accruals in QuickBooks, etc.Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accountsPerform financial analysis, generate conclusions and recommendationsEnsure compliance with GAAP and company standards and controlsAssist with state regulatory compliance reportingFollow up on all outstanding issues on a timely basisMaintain excellent customer service with internal and external partnersAssist with special projects and department goalsProactively identify areas of opportunity /weakness and recommend solutionsQUALIFICATIONS5+ years of related financial analysis, audit, or accounting experience (prior experience in a medical insurance environment is a plus)Big 4 or regional firm public accounting experience is preferredExpertise in generally accepted accounting practices with CPA certification preferredAbility to build partnerships across departments and partnersComfortable working in dynamic and fast-paced environments with ability to be flexiblePosition requires strong analytical and problem-solving skillsAdvanced Excel skills and experience, including analysis of mass data sets, Vlookups, pivot tables, and formulas are requiredHigh level of QuickBooks experience is requiredAbility to prepare work accurately and timelyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsCareer-oriented with an Interest in advancementEDUCATIONBachelor's or masters degree in accounting is required with a CPA preferredQUALIFICATIONS5+ years of related financial analysis, audit or accounting experience (prior experience in medical insurance environment is a plus)Big 4 or regional firm public accounting experience is preferredExpertise in generally accepted accounting practices with CPA certification preferredAbility to build partnerships across departments and partnersComfortable working in dynamic and fast-paced environment with ability to be flexiblePosition requires strong analytical and problem-solving skillsAdvanced Excel skills and experience including analysis of mass data sets, Vlookups, pivot tables and formulas are requiredHigh level of QuickBooks experience is requiredAbility to prepare work accurately and timelyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsCareer-oriented with Interest in advancementPay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
