Registered Nurse (RN) SupervisorMaximise your chances of a successful application to this job by ensuring your CV and skills are a good match.Full-time, Afternoons (3pm - 11:30pm)JOB SUMMARY:The primary purpose of this position is to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities of the facility. Such supervision must be in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be required by the DON or Administrator, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. Ensure nursing care is provided through assessment, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:Most important responsibility as a leader is to make those who report to you, and your colleagues BETTER.Makes frequent rounds to note resident/patient conditions and to ensure nursing personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards.Ensures assigned work area (i.e. nurse station, med. Cart, medication room, etc.), resident/patient care rooms and treatment areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.Ensure medication rooms and medication carts are locked according to regulation.Monitors supplies and orders as needed.Assists the Director of Nursing in directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing activities in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.Ensures that all nursing services personnel comply with their respective job descriptions.Participates in the development, maintenance, and implementation of the facility's quality assurance quality improvement program for the nursing service department.Performs administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc., as necessary.Ensures that thorough, accurate communication takes place between nursing shifts to facilitate follow up on resident care needs.Monitors residents on a daily basis in order to observe and evaluate each resident's physical and emotional status.REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIESExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong interpersonal and team development skills.Gracious and welcoming personality for customer service interaction.Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteer, and other facility staff.Ability to multi-task and remain calm under stress.Analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to organize and prioritize work.EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:Nursing Degree or diploma from an accredited College or University.Possess a current license to practice in the State as a Registered Nurse (RN)LTC experience required2+ years of supervisory experience preferred.SHARED CODE OF CONDUCT:B.E.T.T.E.R. is Villa's Service Excellence Code of Conduct.
