Crescent Point at Niantic, a Benchmark Senior Living Community, is hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing to join our team!Please read the following job description thoroughly to ensure you are the right fit for this role before applying.The Assistant Director of Nursing will assist the Director of Nursing in maintaining the standards of resident care, advising the medical staff, department heads, and administrator in matters related to nursing services. Assist the Director of Nursing in establishing policies, interpreting those policies according to the standards of nursing practice, and with general staff development.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESHands on position that helps with the day to day clinical operations and work flow of the nursing unit.Assist the Director of Nursing in administration of policies and procedures of the Health Center Department.Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, and supervising the Health Center Department around the clock in order to insure competent nursing care for the residents.Assist or maintain an active staff development program.Encourages increased competency and skill in all levels of the Health Center Department staff.Advises the Director of Nursing of any problems related to resident care.Monitors the resident medical and nursing history for completeness and inclusion in the medical record.Attend Medicare and resident care planning meetings.Monitors MDSs and care plans for updating as needed.May serve as care plan coordinator to conduct care plan conferences and maintains the each conference is interdisciplinary.Participates in QAA.Establishes and maintains good public relations.Assists the Director of Nursing to maintain the standards of care.Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESDirectly supervises employees in the Health Center. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees.Educational Requirements and Experience:Bachelors degree in Nursing.Registered Nurse with a current license in good standing.Three years experience in long-term care preferred.Previous management experience preferred.Knowledgeable of standards of care and practices applicable to the delivery of geriatric services, complex medical conditions, multiple medical diagnoses, including preventive measures, rehabilitation, and promoting independence.
