Senior Cost Accountant

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Cost Accountant opening for a manufacturing client based in the Excelsior Springs/Liberty area. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for performing cost analysis and maintenance of the company's bills of materials. This role will also be responsible for standard costing and analyzing manufacturing variances and inventory levels at the plant facility.Please double check you have the right level of experience and qualifications by reading the full overview of this opportunity below.Duties* Responsible for maintaining Standard Cost System* Responsible for analyzing and understanding the plant's monthly production and inventory levels, costs, variances and ongoing and upcoming projects* Involved in participation of establishing standard cost for new items to include the development of standard labor and burden costs for the manufacturing and distribution facilities* Process, review, and maintain the plants bills of materials and routings in ERP/MRP system to ensure that they accurately reflect the plant's manufacturing process* Work with engineering department on tracking costs for new production projects* Responsible for providing the Controller with monthly variance analysis* Participate in annual physical inventory processQualifications* Three to Five years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment* Bachelors of Arts or Sciences in Accounting or Finance* CPA or CMA licensed strongly preferred* Experience in dealing with bills of materials* Experience with ERP/MRP systems* JD Edwards experience would be a plus* Proficiency in Excel specifically with spreadsheets required Company DescriptionStaffing firm based in Dallas, TX specializing in C-Level, Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and Supply Chain openingsCompany DescriptionStaffing firm based in Dallas, TX specializing in C-Level, Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and Supply Chain openings
