Description The City of South Lake Tahoe is hiring for 2024-25 Seasonal Snowplow Operators - MT V, Step 5 level. This is an exceptional opportunity to earn a high hourly salary, plus overtime. There are six (6) openings for snowplow operators with a Commercial Driver License (CDL), Class A or B. The employment will begin November 4, 2024, to March 31, 2025 (tentative). The CDL operators will earn $38.32 per hour, plus overtime pay for work over 40 hours per week ($57.48 per hour) and twice the hourly rate ($76.64) for work during holidays. In addition, for any On-Call Duty (to be ready to report to work), the employee can earn $13.22 per hour. In addition, the City has openings for up to three (3) non-CDL operators, MT III - Step 1, at $25.99 per hour. This is an excellent opportunity to obtain your Commercial Driver's license. The City will provide online training and driving training for one month. These employees will begin work by October 1, 2024, and must complete their CDL license by November 4, 2024. These positions will be considered conditional offers of employment with the requirement to complete their CDL. Once the CDL is obtained, the operators will be enrolled at the MT V, Step 5 level, and must continue working for the entire 2024-25 season.
