Maintenance Technician MinneapolisPOSITION SUMMARY: (Why this role exists) This position is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operations and physical asset of the company's headquarters and other buildings. The individual will perform duties to inspect, repair and maintain facility equipment according to safety and predictive/preventive maintenance procedures for mechanical (HVAC), electrical, plumbing, and other systems. ACCOUNTABILITIES: (The primary functions, scope and responsibilities of the role) Maintenance and Repair: Assists in the completion of predictive and preventive maintenance as scheduled in Preventive Maintenance Program. Responsible for the completion of all work orders/service requests as assigned. Performs minor repairs to all building and non-network equipment. Inspects building, equipment and grounds; diagnoses problems, reports issues and resolves as assigned. Job Description The role may require access to Personal Medical Information protected by multiple security and privacy regulations. Personnel are required to control this data in a manner outlined in the Information Security Policy and Donor and Patient Confidentiality SOP. Building Operations: Utilizes building automation system (BAS) to operate building systems effectively and efficiently; monitors systems and recommends modification of set points as appropriate. Assists in maintaining records and inventory controls; completes required reports. Identifies cost-savings measures in building operations and services; implements as assigned. Works within expense limits. Safety and Emergency: Supports 24-hour emergency maintenance service. Assures safety standards are used which comply with all company, city, state and federal guidelines. Special Projects Assists in the completion of special building and space projects. Performs miscellaneous building carpentry work (windows, locks, flooring, etc.). Assists in monitoring work being performed by outside contractors. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: (Minimum qualifications needed for this position including education, experience, certification, knowledge and/or physical requirements) Knowledge of: Reading and interpreting equipment manuals, work orders, blueprints, reports and general correspondence. Completing electronic forms and writing reports. Understanding of OSHA requirements/practices and other safety guidelines. Fire detection and protection systems. Fundamentals of electricity, electrical, and mechanical systems and equipment. Ability to: Demonstrate technical capacity. Be results driven. Demonstrate strong time management skills. Demonstrate positive customer interaction and service. Exhibit proficient communication. Work with hand and power tools. Education and/or Experience: High school diploma/GED with hands-on apprenticeship experience. 1+ year experience in maintenance of building mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment for corporate office buildings and specialty spaces. Other Requirements Valid driver's license; able to drive between local buildings. Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and up to 50 pounds of force frequently. Able to work independently with little supervision. Able to work overtime when needed. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (Additional qualifications that may make a person even more effective in the role, but are not required for consideration) Previous experience with Building Automation Systems is preferred. Associate degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance is preferred. #DICE nkraft@
