S:US is seeking a Employment Specialist for our Family Shelter in the BronxThe Employment Specialist provides vocational services and consultation as a member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team.Location: 240 East 178th Street, Bronx, Ny 10457Salary:Minimum: $ 45, 760.00Maximum: $ 45, 760.00ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Familiar with Federal, State and Local laws and regulations as they apply to the community residence program and agency policiesProvides vocational services and consultation as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. visits clients in their home and other settings required.Familiar with OMH regulationsResponsible for integrating vocational goals and servicesProvides aid and assistance through all phases of the vocational serviceprovisionPerforming routine clinical services as a member of the TeamResponsible for charting client servicesResponsible Vocational portion or all of creating the service planResponsible for integrating vocational goals and services with the tasks of all the team members Responsible for ensuring revisions to the plan as the participant’s needs changeAdvocating for the rights and preferences of the participant whenever possibleResponsible for creating a monthly spreadsheet with names of tenants and their employment statusFollow-up quarterly with all employed tenantsAssist with making monthly contact with tenant as neededParticipate in bi-weekly monthly meeting Participate in monthly supervision to address any work-related tasks or concernsOther duties as assignedBachelor’s Degree and two years of applicable experience Or a minimum of two years of applicable experience.Knowledge of the complex interaction of multiple factors of homelessness, substance abuse, mental health and domestic violence, with sensitivity to cultural and gender-specific issues with both individuals and families.Knowledge of HRA, entitlements and homeless shelter system.Knowledge of current practices in vocational education, labor market trends and employment opportunities in both the private and public sectors.Knowledge of available community resources and services, principles of marketing and public relation.Knowledge of screening/interview techniques and business etiquette.Bilingual a plus.Join a team of employees who cares about the wellbeing of others.
