The Tax Credit Tax Associate or Senior Tax Associate will work closely with partners, managers and clients while serving as a consultant and representative on research tax credits, energy credits and other credits, with the focus on research (“R&D”) credits. The individual will also be involved with state corporate income, personal income, sales and use and other state taxes. Provide tax consulting services as it relates to the R&D Tax CreditUnderstand common software development and engineering methodologiesConduct technical interviews, within the context of Section 41 to gather qualitative details as to how client’s work meets the definition of qualifying research activitiesReview technical documentation to draft project narratives to document how client projects meet Section 41 guidelinesWork with team members to scope Research Tax Credit benefits, conduct Research Tax Credit studies, perform tax technical research, and interact with clients in a wide range of industriesAddress other credits including the energy credits as well as state and local tax issues as needed * Interact with seniors, managers, partners, and clientsBA/BS/MS Accounting or Taxation degree from an accredited college/university required.2+ years of experience working within a Tax Credit practiceProficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.Some planning and problem solving experience. Strong accounting and analytical skills a plus. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to meet challenging client requirements, provide services and possess strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and research capabilities.Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions and recommendations in client related matters pertaining to tax returns
