Job DescriptionThe Principle Engineer II, reporting to Head of Digital Engineering, will work with the Enterprise Digital Team and Retail teams to develop and execute Digital pharmacy strategy. As Principal Engineer II, you will be directly developing and landing ambient digital Pharmacy Initiatives. You will compile research and technologies across the organization into one cohesive technical roadmap. You will prove out ambient projects that address our customer challenges. You will be heavily involved in API integrations with Rest APIs, Microservices, Lambdas, Streaming, ML, K8S/Dockers and operating in some serverless environments. You will have an opportunity to provide strategic leadership for the software development of our application products and services that leverage advance technologies. We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer II who has experience mentoring/guiding team members, helping drive development decisions, and assisting with architecture design decisions. In this role, you will demonstrate executive level qualities, lead the conversation, have an eye for great design, Hands-on coding as required and a knack for pushing projects from conception to customers. As a Principal Engineer, you will partner with Value Architects, Product and Engineer teams in order to articulate the true total value of each technical solution and the overall business outcome. You will be responsible for Provide technical vision, drive strategy around solutions, solve complex problems, and successfully execute across the Cloud, backend solution, Streaming, ML and more Act as an executive technical leader across strategic efforts, leveraging partners, technical leads, and technical expertise to better inform processes and outcomes Act as a technical owner across strategic efforts involving the Cloud, backend solution, Streaming, ML and more Partner with technical leaders within CVS and the open source community and contribute to product strategy, frameworks, roadmap definition, and requirements-gathering Provide domain knowledge and engineering insight to guide early designs, accelerate project decision-making, and maintain close oversight of technical execution Encourage and maintain engineering excellence on the team to build reliable distributed systems that our customers can build their business on Become a trusted decision-maker for important projects with high technical or outcome risk Develop mindshare by collaborating and discussing ideas Plot and execute on the path from prototype to production for features Bring passion, energy and excitement to the team and organization Ability to work in a fast paced environment and deal with multiple prioritiesCan work from any of the CVS hub locations , Work from home flexiblePay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:Minimum: 140,000Maximum: 280,000Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.Required Qualifications 10+ years' experience in systems analysis and application program development 10+ years' experience managing large software development teams 3+ years' experience in building Enterprise solutions and managing client requirements and technical solutions 2+ year experience with Confluent Kafka, or open source distributions 3+ years of experience with cloud computing technologies. Possess a track record developing in GCP/Azure or similar public cloud environment 5+ years of development experience in one or more of the following languages: Java, Nodejs, Scala, C++, Perl, Python 5+ years of experience with Agile software development 2+ years of experience in a DevOps role worked on Kubernetes, Argo, GIT, Jenkins, Maven, JUnit, Docker, JMeter, Artifactory and also 2+ years of experience worked on CICD Pipeline automation 2+ Experience with Big Data Operations Support Systems (OSS) technology (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Ranger, etc.)Preferred Qualifications Experience working across research and engineering. Experience working with distributed teams, working across multiple time zones and geographies. Experience working in a research environment Experience in the health and wellness domain Experience working as full stack development when needed Experience developing user-facing features and/or apps. Ability to influence and inspire teams to align technical direction Ability to create and execute on roadmaps that consider both progress and innovation as well as the need to scale reliably Have contributed to open source technology and Developed patents Ability to learn/work with emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Cloud/IT technology space Ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries, build relationships, and achieve broader organizational goals.EducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience.
