Job DescriptionOversee other pharmacy technicians for accuracy and lead pharmacy technician staff in the proper preparation and process medications. May prepare and process medications through actions that may entail data entry, and/or resolving customer service issues and/or processing medication through the automation equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures. Implement pharmacy objectives as determined by the pharmacy supervisory team. Lead pharmacy technicians using the proper procedure to complete all daily assignments. Work with technicians to coordinate the daily production of assigned function including data entry and/or customer service and/or automation. Pharmacy Technicians take important steps to ensure all medication needs and regulatory compliance standards are met for our patients, and they demonstrate ethical conduct and always maintain patient confidentiality. Success for incumbents in this role includes being able to manage all assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks to support the team's ability to fill patient prescriptions promptly, safely, and accurately. Knowledgeable and trained on all front-end processes and systems in order to troubleshoot and assist in workflow if needed Knowledgeable of department metrics and productivity levels Coaches, mentors and provides regular and timely feedback to pharmacy technician colleagues regarding their performance. Partner with pharmacy leaders on team training plan creation and implementation. Collaborate with field training team as needed. Calculates and/or verifies the correct dosage based on the prescription Assist in orientation, training, and education programs for all controlled substance technicians in accordance with policies, procedures, state, and federal laws Contacts physician on any narcotic prescriptions to receive a hard copy within the required time frame per state statures Run prescription logs, controlled drug logs, Rx cards; close out expired Rx's; ensure completion of CII file Enters new and refill orders in a timely and accurate manner. Process orders based on the priority assigned Prepare backup pharmacy orders Comply with a process that addresses all state and federal guidelines regarding medication labeling. Provide dispensing pharmacists with information regarding allergies and drug interactions, therapeutic duplications, and other items that the computer flags. Courteously assists all internal and external customers Consult with dispensing pharmacist regarding prescription order clarification, non-stock items, order entry problems or concerns. Complete all data fields according to pharmacy procedures including use of approved abbreviations. Triage customer service requests by department, urgency, and information/response required. Collect, prioritize and sort incoming faxes to the appropriate department/area. Create and maintain accurate customer records Coordinate/manage "STAT" order process (check e-kit stock list and fax back to customer) Understand Medicare Policy and Co-Pay requirements/guidelines Follow all applicable government regulations including HIPAA. Assist with pharmacy workflow as needed Take important steps to ensure all medication needs and regulatory compliance standards are met for our patients and they demonstrate ethical conduct and maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Maintain and full compliance with all Federal, State and Local laws and regulations Maintain highest professional and ethical standardsPay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:Minimum: 18.50Maximum: 34.60Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.
