The EDML team focuses on data and ML platform design and development aimed at improving the productivity and efficacy of thousands of fellow data scientists and engineers throughout the organization. This foundation will facilitate hundreds of millions of ML enabled member and consumer touchpoints. Our work is ambitious and far reaching with the potential to become a new internal standard, an OSS project, or differentiating intellectual propRole Responsibilities: Oversees documentation structure, quality, organization, and usability for the entire data platform. Ensures that documentation is clear, understandable, and usable. Writes documentation for the platform that is at the appropriate level of detail for our key stakeholders, which includes data scientists, data engineers, and application developers. Helps to establish documentation publishing processes and standards that will be applied to all documentation producers in the data platform ecosystem. Hire, train, and manage a team of technical writers to work on data platform and data product documentation. Applies a consistent set of style, grammar, and punctuation practices. Oversees standards for technical diagrams and illustrations that are used as part of data platform and data product documentation. Creates and oversees a documentation review process for data platform and data products. Contributes to data platform training programs related to establishing minimum quality standards for metadata and documentation related to data published on the platform. Organizes material and completes assignments that require set standards regarding organization, structure, clarity, conciseness, and terminology.Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:Minimum: 95,000Maximum: 209,000Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.Required QualificationsA minimum of six (6) years' experience in technical writing. Excellent command of the English language to include grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to acquire and present technical information through independent reading and interviews with subject matter experts and specialists, observation of tests and experiments, interpretation of diagrams, or other appropriate methods. Ability to tailor writing and publications for a specific type of audience or technical area.Preferred QualificationsDemonstrated experience documenting data sets, APIs, and software libraries. Demonstrated experience working on modern platform documentation. Experience with large data, analytics, and technology modernization initiatives.Education Undergraduate degree required. Graduate degree preferred.
