Job DescriptionThe Enterprise Data and Machine Learning team developing CVS Health's Modern Data Platform is looking for an exceptional Technical Writer to join our team in one of our locations or as a remote employee: Hartford, CT; Wellesley, MA; New York, NY; Chicago, IL, Pittsburgh, PA, Irving, TX. CVS Health has a large ecosystem of data that we are charged with bringing to its full potential. The Technical Writer role is a critical element of the team that we need to develop our full platform capabilities. This role is for someone who loves making sense of and explaining complex data, has very strong writing and communication skills, and a desire to contribute directly to the quality of documentation for our entire data platform. The Technical Writer: Works with technical and product teams to fully document and explain data products. Contributes to maintaining coherent and usable documentation, for the entire data platform. Ensures that documentation is clear, understandable, and usable. Writes documentation for the platform that is at the appropriate level of detail for our key stakeholders, which include data scientists, data engineers and application developers. Applies a consistent set of style, grammar, and punctuation practices; Contributes to standards for technical diagrams and illustrations that are used as part of data platform and data product documentation. Follows a documentation review process for data platform and data products. Contributes to data platform training programs related to establishing minimum quality standards for metadata and documentation related to data published on the platform. Organizes material and completes assignments that require set standards regarding organization, structure, clarity, conciseness, and terminology;Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:Minimum: 95,000Maximum: 209,000Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.Required Qualifications A minimum of 4 relevant years' experience in technical writing. 1 + years of experience demonstrating experience documenting data sets and/or APIs. Excellent command of the English language to include grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; and attention to detail; Ability to acquire and present technical information through independent reading, interviews with subject matter experts and specialists, observation of tests and experiments, interpretation of diagrams, or other appropriate methods; Ability to tailor writing and publications for a specific type of audience or technical area.Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated experience working on a modern platform documentation, internal data platform, or coming from a data enterprise environment. Experience with SQL, Tableau and/or other data and data visualization tools. Working knowledge of a variety of healthcare data management processes and techniques, including data standards, interoperability, and proper data privacy. Experience with large data, analytics, and technology modernization initiatives.Education Undergraduate degree required. Graduate degree preferred.
