Job DescriptionAs a leader on our Front Store Merchandising team, the Vice President of Merchandising Operations and Business Development is responsible for improving category strategy, profitability, and processes in the Front Store through analysis of customer, sales, inventory, market, and other key KPI trends. The team will investigate and improve detailed drivers of the front store business including product productivity, placement, assortment, and other relevant information to optimize our business and processes for the customer. You will collaborate with and provide consultancy to all category Merchandising teams/support groups as well as store operations, field leaders, supply chain, asset protection, and finance to identify areas of opportunity and optimization within the front store. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Leadership Lead, engage, and develop a team of ~40 FTE colleaguesStrategy Develop high-impact, localized category strategies. Explore, assess, and deliver cross-category opportunities and deliver growth and margin enhancement across our Front Store business Lead the Front Store in strategic negotiations to drive incremental margin and sales through assortment and promotion changes As appropriate, provide business perspective and represent the needs of front store merchandising in organization and product & P&L related decisions for cross-BU/functional company priorities that drive total enterprise value across partner organizations (e.g. store ops, field, supply chain, Aetna, etc) Integrate data-driven business insights consistently and rally teams to supportOperations Construct and closely manage cross-functional roadmaps, calendars, processes, and resource/partnership requirements in support of initiatives Oversee the merchandising operating model, ensuring consistency and continuous innovation in processes, tools, and activities Responsible for billing, tracking, and optimizing a multi-billion-dollar vendor funding budget to drive sales and profitBusiness Development Accountable for identifying and evaluating strategic partnerships that support CVS Health's mission, vision and valuation objectives Lead or assist with the creation of all phases of a business case (e.g., market analysis, value proposition, strategic fit, economic models and launch) to support a new initiative Proactively prospect for, develop and maintain a pipeline of strategic opportunities Engage with external business and industry experts to learn and influence business strategies, remaining forward-thinking about opportunities and risks in the broader industry Provide strong customer-focused, data driven approach to unlock new insights, drive innovation and create valueRequired Qualifications 10 to 15 years of relevant retail (Health, Drug, Mass, etc.), merchandising, consulting, business development and/or analytical experience Outstanding leadership capabilities with a demonstrated track record of developing, engaging and inspiring high performing teams Strong business and financial acumen, identifying sources of revenue and profit growth. Experience managing a P&L preferred.
