Directly responsible for staffing and day-to-day operation of the community residenceAlong with Supervisor and Program Director support, train, orientate and assist DCC staff. Work closely with Recreational Coordinators.Upkeep maintenance of the residence and ensure in compliance of all safety and regulationsReports directly to the program director no less than once a weekReviews all incidents immediately and informs appropriate staff always including but not exclusively the program directorAssist in the handling of crisis and emergency situationsAvailable on call around the clockProvide all meetings in conjunction with professional staffSupport of all support staff.Assist in the coordination of all activities of the community residence.PerformPerson in charge of ordering program supplies, i.e. food, materials and office supplies. Complete reimbursement of Petty Cash and disburse. Complete inventory of food and other supplies. Disbursement of resident's allowance.REPORTS TO: Program DirectorSUPERVISES: DCCI. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIESResidentsMaintains awareness of each resident's emotional, personal, physical, and spiritual needs and make appropriate links to DCC staff to meet these needsAssist in organizing recreational and therapeutic activities to make leisure time a positive, rewarding experience.See to overall management of clothing, household supplies, equipment, daily care and cleanliness of living facilities; keep adequate inventory; reports and follows up on repairs, purchases, etc.Attends case conferences; participates in agency in-service training, outside conferences, seminars, workshops as required by agency.To ensure purchases and distribution of CR supplies to residents.To ensure appropriate behavioral management techniques are implemented to provide structure and safety to the residents in his/her care.To oversee that orientation is provided to new admissions (living quarters, household rules, etc).To oversee items regarding resident's allowances, incentive pay, petty cash, travel expenses, savings, etc.Promotes and fosters in residents positive values such as: integrity, dignity, self-control, poise, honesty, self-respect; a sense of personal responsibility; appropriate spiritual and religious attitudes for personal property, equipment, etc., as well as the appropriate use of money.Provides for celebrations of special events in individual or group life: (i.e. birthdays, graduations, discharges). Disbursements of funds for such events.Listens and supports each adolescent in movement toward his goals in line with treatment fostering the above, the Supervisor Worker must be aware that his/her personal example will greatly influence the residents, as he/she will be taken as a model of behavior.DCC StaffTo provide orientation, training and supervision to all new DCC staffTo address and review all incidents that occur in the residentsMust participate in Supervisory on-call scheduleResponsible for review of daily log entries from DCC staffResponsible for staffing schedule and coveragePerforms all other duties as assigned.III. RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERSDirectly responsible to the Program Supervisor for performance of duties and responsibilities. Assists supervisor in securing coverage in event of emergency or illnesses. When relief worker is unavailable, assumes responsibilities for coverage.Works closely with DCC worker staff in maintaining every day operationsWorks cooperatively with all staff in the best interest of the residents in careAssists cook in serving meals and prepare light meals during cook's absenceIn addition, employees need to possess the following characteristics:Be team players.Have a strong sensitivity to cultural differences present among staff and clients within our organization.Possess a strong belief in people's ability to grow and change; forge a mutually respectful partnership with persons served and their families.Ability to set limits and maintain helping role of practitioner and to intervene appropriately.Qualifications - ExternalQUALIFICATIONSH.S. Diploma2 years child care experience or BA degreeAcceptable background clearance check through State Central Register and compliance with health regulations for physical examination and Mantoux testing.
