This position is responsible to obtain all Medicaid, Social Security and insurance benefits for those individuals who receive residential and/or day services from SCO Family of Services; OPWDD and OMH programs. These programs include: HCBS Waiver, Service Coordination, Residential and Day Habilitation, Respite, Family Care, Individual Residential Alternatives, Intermediate Care Facilities, Community Residence, RTF, and Foster Care programs. Once the individual has the appropriate benefits this position is responsible to monitor Medicaid and ensure on-going eligibility with the assistance of the Service Coordinator/Social worker, assist the program personnel in monitoring consumer bank balances to ensure that they are maintained under the Social Security required limit, use award letters to adjust consumer entitlements and set up consumer reimbursement procedures if the benefit falls below the expected NYS levels for Congregate Care Level I & II. In addition, this position will monitor on a monthly basis the tracking of Social Security income to ensure that proper benefit levels are achieved. This position will also represent the consumer and the agency at local government offices (Social Security & Medicaid). This position is also responsible to file appeals and fair hearings when entitlements are in question. This position will also participate in consumer meetings to discuss benefits, as needed and assist families with long-term financial planning, including the establishment of Supplemental Needs Trusts.Qualifications - ExternalHigh School diploma required, Associates Degree preferred. Must have two years of Entitlement or Case Management experience, including advanced knowledge of Medicaid and Social Security regulations. Advanced knowledge of Medicaid law, or MRG a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and good oral and written communication addition, employees need to possess the following characteristics: Be team players.
