Job DescriptionAs a Release Train Engineer (RTE) in Information Technology at CVS Health/Aetna, you will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment delivering innovative solutions. We are looking for passionate, driven person who wants to join our high energy and growing team to make a difference in customers' lives.The Release Train Engineer (RTE) is a leader on the Agile Release Train (ART) which plans, commits, develops and deploys software together to deliver significant value to CVS Heath's end customers.The RTE is accountable for relentless train improvement and for ensuring transparency about the ART's delivery, risks and accomplishments. The RTE drives train processes and ensure teams have everything they need to be successful to build the product and help coach the ART in Scrum, Kanban and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).This is an instrumental leadership role in the oversight and execution of initiatives that generate business value to the organization and touch members every year, partnering closely with leaders from the business and other IT disciplines across the organization to provide quarterly guidance and day-to-day direction.Your responsibilities would include but are not limited to:-Manages and facilitates train meetings and processes, including SAFe ceremonies-Plans and facilitates the train's quarterly Program Increment (PI) planning event with key business stakeholders, including the readiness/preparation activities in advance to ensure teams are ready for a planning session-Oversees flow of features through Portfolio Kanban along with creation of PI Objectives and Program Board-Acts as the train's focal point for communication and connections with all impacted teams needed to deliver on the work including teams on the SAFe trains, agile teams not on trains, waterfall teams, vendor partners, suppliers, etc.-Ensures prioritization alignment, resolves/escalates conflicts, and clears cross-team/ART-level impediments and risks so the train delivers commitments and realizes business value-Synthesizes data from multiple sources and uses that information to develop insights on train's status-Fosters information sharing, creating a collaborative environment-Drives relentless improvement by identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement -Assists with managing train budget and spend through forecasting, resource allocation and monitoring, in partnership with financeRequired Qualifications-8+ years of experience in IT-SAFe Release Train engineer (RTE) certification and SAFe Agilist (SA) certification-3+ years of experience as RTE, Scrum Master, Product Owner or Agile Project/Program ManagerCOVID RequirementsCOVID-19 Vaccination RequirementCVS Health requires certain colleagues to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (including any booster shots if required), where allowable under the law, unless they are approved for a reasonable accommodation based on disability, medical condition, religious belief, or other legally recognized reasons that prevents them from being vaccinated. Please note that in some states and roles, you may be required to provide proof of full vaccination or an approved reasonable accommodation before you can begin to actively work.Preferred Qualifications-SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) certification or SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) certification-Experience with Agile collaboration tools such as CA Rally, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams-Experience leveraging Agile best practices and interpreting agile metrics (e.g. burn-down charts, different retrospective formats, defect management, epics, features, user stories)-Strong technical aptitude and experience leading teams in delivering quality software-Experience working in healthcare-Advanced understanding of lean-agile principles/mindset and SAFe principles/core values with ability to adopt a product mindset-Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, collaborative style and the ability to establish strong working relationships and influence peers and stakeholders-Act as Servant Leader with demonstrated ability to coach and mentor team members-Strong analytical mindset demonstrating critical thinking and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail and ability to make balanced, insightful decisions-Self-starter who comfortable jumping in as needed to support the train-Demonstrated ability to facilitate large planning and solutioning sessions-Highly organized to manage multiple tasks simultaneously adjusting priorities to meet deadlines while producing high quality output-Experience working operating independently in a fast-paced, dynamic, and complex working environmentEducation-Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experienceBusiness OverviewBring your heart to CVS HealthEvery one of us at CVS Health shares a single, clear purpose: Bringing our heart to every moment of your health.
