Job DescriptionThe VPC (Virtual Primary Care) Physician is responsible for ensuring that patients at MinuteClinic receive high quality, accessible and clinically rigorous care. This is a Work from Home position from any of the States listed in the Central Region. We are hiring two (2) VPC Physicians for the Central Region. The VPC Physician must be licensed in at least one (1) of the Central Region States currently and be able to obtain licenses in multiple states as soon as possible. The Central Region includes the following States: ND / SD/ NE / KS / OK / TX / MN / IN / MO / LA / WI / IL / KY / TN / MS / AL / AR Reporting to the CVS Health / MinuteClinic Senior Medical Director (Virtual Primary Care), the Physician will provide direct patient care and lead a virtual multi-disciplinary health care team including Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurse (RN) and Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).They will have responsibility incorporating new products and technologies and delivering high quality care. As a VPC Physician you will support the implementation, development and oversight of key clinical programs while working closely with Senior Medical Directors and external networks (vendors, key opinion leaders, etc.). The VPC Physician will demonstrate proficiency in practice, planning, and self-direction in goal setting. Candidates must be board-certified in Family Practice or Internal Medicine with clinical leadership experience and have administrative capabilities.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:1. Support the clinical and administrative leadership for the new Virtual Primary Care division of CVS Health. Manage the virtual multidisciplinary health care teams providing comprehensive primary care to a panel of patients Supervise of advanced practice clinicians when appropriate and abide by all associated rules and regulations Escalation point for the health care delivery team 2. Focus on patient safety and experience, quality, accurate coding, cost containment, and enhanced patient access to care Work closely with the CVS patient safety organization and other internal quality assurance bodies to ensure the safety of clinical care delivered at CVS Health. Adheres to privacy, compliance, quality, and other regulatory standards of CVS Health 3. Actively participates in practice quality improvement plans and evaluation of practice performance metrics. Support professional practice or APRNs and review evidence-based guidelines in primary care with APRNs and staff. Participates in identification and implementation of new health technologies, products and service programs Provides feedback on ways to improve workflows and tooling to reflect best care practices4. Provide direct patient care to a subset of patients and be responsible for the clinical care delivered by the health care team. Provides and manages remote patient care with strong diagnostic acumen, using audio and visual technology to complete patient examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans. Documenting/Charting patient information in line with current policies and procedures Delivers holistic, patient-centered care with continuity as one of the primary care physicians Communicates effectively and compassionately through audio visual consultations with patients and can address patient concerns through these media Communicates with patients regarding testing results, follow-up care, and additional information. Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions. Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate Educates patients on the risks and benefits of treatments ensuring the patient is a part of the decision-making process Participates in the development of care plans and drive successful outcomesRequired QualificationsCertification & Licensing:Medical Degree (MD or DO) and Board Certification in a Primary Care Specialty: Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Current and on-going licensure to practice medicine in at least one state with ability to get additional licenses as needed Drug Enforcement Agency certification The VPC Physician will need to meet the MinuteClinic credentialing standardsRequired Skills & Other Qualifications: Completion of a Medical Residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine 10+ years of clinical practice experience Clinical and administrative leadership experience in a medical group or telemedicine company Experience collaborating with other clinicians in a highly matrixed organization Ability to work collaboratively and virtually Knowledge of and experience with managed care systems including quality assurance, utilization management, risk management, quality improvement, population health and disease management programs Familiarity with the community care delivery environment Strong talent development acumen and ability to build and lead high performing clinical teams Demonstrated success creating and leading clinical systems improvement impacting HEDIS/ healthcare quality, navigating information systems technology Excellent problem-solving capabilities in ambiguous situations and with incomplete information is required Ability to manage multiple priorities and resolve conflicts in a timely manner Consensus builder who leads through influence and is an effective communicatorEssential Functions: Ability to manage a virtual multi-disciplinary health care team including Nurse Practitioners, RNs, LVNs and Pharmacists.
