Job DescriptionThe Executive Director reports directly to the VP of Commercial Care Management, providing strategic leadership for the design and implementation of all programs that are tied to driving engagement and effectiveness of the Commercial Care management and specialty program portfolio. This position works collaboratively across the enterprise to bring together various projects and workstreams into synergistic plans to create a streamlined body of work to execute for care management staff and drive improved outcomes for the membership. The Executive Director leads a team of 200+ and 6-8 Directors, Managers, and Senior Consultants directly, and is responsible for maintaining a highly productive and motivating work environment to achieve business goals and deliver superior end to end solutions. Experience in clinical management, digital engagement and driving for effectiveness is required in this role. Must possess management, case management and engagement strategies that are best in class to drive outcomes. The Executive Director reviews organizational performance and develops and implements performance improvement capabilities designed to improve outcomes and achieve the quintuple aim. Leads the implementation of solutions with digital teams, platform teams, commercial product, sales, and enterprise partners and ensures the oversight for professional level engagement of staff from and across multiple teams. The Executive Director also provides leadership in the development and implementation of transformation plans to achieve targeted improvement goals. The Executive Director is responsible for driving the commercial portfolio of projects, collaborates with other leaders within the transformation teams and supports our VBC clinical activities. Works across CVS Health overall to identify enabling technology and service products, programs, and approaches that integrate informatics and performance improvement with clinical, business, strategic, and technology transformation approaches.The Executive Director role involves (not an all-encompassing list):-Assess clinical capability, drives strategic areas of focus, and develops a performance improvement platform for the Commercial team. -Develop and prepare for senior leadership presentations for strategy and outcomes of the commercial business. -Drive business case development, staffing plans and manage the financial risk ~ $25M to $100M for improvement opportunities. -Design, develop and oversee implementation of a comprehensive customized strategy to drive a successful population health management operation for each of the region. -Develop and execute on strategy and monitor performance against the defined targets and engagement. -Partner with clinical operations team across commercial and Cross-Enterprise Strategic Innovation (CESI) to drive performance. -Attract a diverse skill set implementing and deploying various skills and transformation projects. -Manage projects, people, customer expectations and business priorities to achieve constituent satisfaction. -Manage and build a strong team through formal training, diverse assignments, coaching, mentoring and other development techniques. -Drive the overall design or methodology of tactical and strategic advisory solutions that satisfy needs across products, segments, and clients to increase engagement. -Strategic member of the CESI Leadership team. -Communicate and consult with senior leadership to ensure that informatics and performance improvement strategies focus on long term results and represent all constituencies effectively. -Manage budgets, plans, and expenses for large scale strategic projects, and participate in cost center management. -Collaborate with the internal and external partners and stakeholders to design, implement, and continually improve outcomes tracking and measurement models related to Commercial Clinical operations business. -Collaborate with business partners to provide advice on metrics, tools, and outcomes models for development and evaluation of projects and programs.Required Qualifications- 12+ years managerial and project management experience required.- 10+ years of experience with health care analysis methods and tools, health economics, and finance.- 5+ years of experience working with clinical and claims data.- 2+ years of experience with accountable care financial models.- 2+ years of experience leading direct, indirect, and virtual teams in a matrixed environment successful direct report leadership and coaching experience.- Travel required - up to 20%, including some last minute trips.COVID RequirementsCOVID-19 Vaccination RequirementCVS Health requires certain colleagues to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (including any booster shots if required), where allowable under the law, unless they are approved for a reasonable accommodation based on disability, medical condition, religious belief, or other legally recognized reasons that prevents them from being vaccinated. Please note that in some states and roles, you may be required to provide proof of full vaccination or an approved reasonable accommodation before you can begin to actively work.Preferred Qualifications- 5-10 years in either payer or provider settings highly preferred.- MBA or MS in management, finance, or a related healthcare discipline.- Deep knowledge of health care industry, policy, research design, predictive modeling, ACO finance methods and tools.- Ability to collaborate with and understand the needs of C-level executives and help translate those needs to an actionable plan.- Successful experience working with clinicians, finance, and operational leaders to drive performance improvement experience.- Demonstrated strategic thinking, problem solving and critical thinking abilities.- Demonstrated collaborative style, with ability to influence diverse teams and build strong relationships.- Strategic business acumen and proven organizational, management, and leadership skills.- Outstanding verbal and written skills, including formal presentations for all levels of management combined with strong collaboration/ influencing abilities.- Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex and often contentious issues, reach consensus and work through people to achieve key goals.- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts and implications to business and policy decision-makers and clients.Education- BA or BSN in management, population health or clinical role required.Business OverviewAt Aetna, a CVS Health company, we are joined in a common purpose: helping people on their path to better health.
